My journey with Traditional Chinese Medicine began in 2003 upon referral from a yoga instructor for intolerable arm pain. After the initial visit, I was astonished at the amount of improvement that occurred. Not only did I make a complete recovery, but also my digestion improved, my anxiety decreased, and some gynecological issues were resolved because the acupuncturist focused on my body, mind, and spirit as a whole. These miraculous changes lead me to seek out an education in Chinese Medicine.
I graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California earning my Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) degree. This four-year program included a broad range of training comprising of acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, gua sha and cupping, electrical stimulation, auricular acupuncture, tuina, nutrition, and clean needle technique. I am Nationally Board Certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I am also licensed in the State of Missouri. In addition, I am currently working towards my Professional Doctorate of Oriental Medicine at PCOM. I also hold a B.A. in Psychology and have a background in research.
My special interests within Chinese Medicine include, but are not limited to, women’s health, digestive issues, pain, anxiety disorders, and supporting those undergoing cancer treatments or other debilitating diseases. I strongly believe in the concept of Integrative Medicine and encourage the use of Eastern and Western Medicine when deemed appropriate.
When I am not working, or doing research, I enjoy yoga, pilates, cycling, cooking, traveling, playing with my favorite hound, Murphy, and spending time with friends and family.
I look forward to assisting you in achieving your ultimate wellness!
